“Prompts for the Promptless” was created to expand minds, share ideas, and — equally importantly — find something about which to blog.
Every episode will run for a week and feature a “concept”, complete with a super-simplified definition and suggested prompts.
Then it’s your turn– use a prompt, create your own, write a poem, post a picture, tell a story, or do whatever you feel inspired to do.
- Everyone is welcome to be Prompted.
- Tag your posts with “ForThePromptless” so others can find you.
- Link back to this post so I can find you. If you do that, and give me a day, you’ll find your link in this post and my sidebar. And anywhere else I can put it to promote your involvement!
- You may participate as many times as you’d like.

The 11th Possibility is the idea that, regardless of data to the contrary, something unexpected and outside the realm of ordinary thought is always potentially around the corner.
“A coin is flipped 10 times, and in each instance lands on either heads or tails. But even after the normalcy displayed by the first 10 flips, the result of the next flip is still unknown. The coin could turn into a bird and fly away. The coin could land perfectly on its ridged edge. The coin could dissolve upon landing. It could defy gravity and remain stuck in the air. This is the 11th Possibility.”
Suggested Prompts:
- Share a picture of something that represents The 11th Possibility to you
- You walk into a dark room and flip the light switch on. Normalcy says that the light turns on. What are some possible 11th Possibilities?
- Consider, develop, or discuss the 11th Possibility in literature or film
- Write a poem about an ordinary scenario turning into something outside the realm of ordinary thought
- Share a story about the reaction that would occur if the 11th Possibility presented itself
- … or make up your own prompt related to the theme!
Tune in every Tuesday night (11:30 pm PST) for another episode.

Shouldn’t the little badge say episode 2 on it? (Was just about to copy it over)
Also, the blue I mean is in my jumper in my avatar… I will try and get a bigger version for you!
Xx
Fixed!
Thank you for catching that! (A bigger version would be great, when I try to hover over it in my graphics program it looks decidedly purple!)
Lol, how do I send you a photo on here?
Well, you could upload it to your media and send embed it in a comment… Or you can just email me,

love the concept – the 11th possiblity–am reading this at 3 in the morning, so must revisit tomorrow when I, like Enchanted Seashells, am a little more aware
3 in the morning?! Sleep, my friend, and dream sweet dreams!
I am only up to make myself tired again and get in a few more hours before the morning comes

Hi friend, loved your concept. Very useful for me. Here is my link-http://amaltaas.wordpress.com/2013/02/27/unexpected-guest/
Thanks dear, Indira will be better. It was fun joining your prompt.
ok I am in the same boat as Enchanted and Homefront. This requires deeper thought than I am prepared to do. But I am going to ruminate and be back. I love this promptless idea.

Okay – I only posted a rarasaur prompt quote and a picture, but I think it is perfect for the concept. Find here: http://georgefloreswrite.com/2013/02/27/the-11th-possibility/
I’d really like to be able to flip a coin into the vending machine slot.
That would be awesome! Of course, you should be specific in your wish and say “I’d really like to be able to flip a coin into a vending machine slot and either have it recorded or have someone see it.”
Because you know no one would believe it happened even if it happened.

RaraSaur you are a very inspiring Dinobot. It maybe that scrappy green spikey fire-breathing avatar I see stomping all over the internet leaving little dino-prints in the digital mud that makes me smile and think A-ha! RaraSaur’s been this way or simply that you just emanate good-vibes without any trace of a selfish self-serving ego; even through my computer. I love you RaraSaur – your my favourite dinosaur; after Allosaurus.
As I posted that you *followed* mine! #Spooky
Which one happened first? Haha! That is awesome and a bit spooky! I love you, too! And I don’t mind taking second to the Allosaurus, I mean… the allosaurus is pretty fab. Your kind words are much appreciated,
and if I was a little less brown would have cause a blush.
*hugs*
“What did you do today?”
“Made a Rarasaur blush.”
“You dawg!”
“What did you do today?”
“I painted red on the cheeks of an internet dino with my words and words alone!”
“You’re an artist!”
I think you just returned the favour! Now I am crimson cheeked…
